ROSE LOVER
The rose’s rhythms of growth and periods of pruning have been an inspiration and teacher. I love watching the life cycle of the plant and am especially drawn to the colors of the flowers as they fade. Our Spanish revival home was built in 1931 and has a beautiful rose garden. I’m trying to learn the names of all the varieties. Our neighbors have told us that the previous owners loved roses and would collect them at rose shows and estate sales. I’m very thankful for their hard work because their beauty is inspiring and I’m really enjoying the journey of learning to care for and paint them. The gallery below is some of my favorite shots.
